Fit for a New Bike

If you’re planning to buy a new bike, we can help you to identify and advise on the manufacturers and models with geometry best suited to your body and riding style, a process optimised to deliver peace of mind purchasing for your new bike, purchase. Our new bike build service is split into three sessions: an initial three hour bike fit consultation, a video consultation and a follow up fitting appointment to set up your new bike to your unique, precise measurements.

How it works

Initial consultation

  • We’ll start by assessing your current position with your bike on a turbo trainer, understanding what you want to gain from your fit, your problem areas, and any current/previous injuries.

  • We then complete an off-bike biomechanical assessment of your posture, stability, range of motion/flexibility, body asymmetries (eg leg length discrepancy) and contact points (foot and pelvic structure) of the bike to understand your strengths, weaknesses and any functional limitations we are working to.

  • Your current bike’s position (if you have an existing bike, but no problem if not) will be transferred to the fitting jig, and each contact point will be optimised for your body and riding style.

  • Position changes of your contact points include:

    • Cleat positioning and foot support

    • Saddle selection and positioning

    • Pedal stroke and crank length assessment

    • Handlebar width selection and positioning

We will then look analysis what you need from the geometry of the bike in terms of it’s fit geometry, handling and ride characteristics using BikeCAD, as well as discuss your existing bike ideas, build budgets and desired performance components. From here we will look at examples of potential brands and bike ranges together as well as give you the important geometry and component recommendation information for you to be able to make the an informed decision about choosing your new bike.

30 Minute video consultation

New from September 2025, and aimed to give you more control and clarity over the process, without delays, we have initiated a Google Meets video consultation stage to go through your prospective bike choice, answer any questions you might have, and deliver a full picture of your incoming new bike, including an overview of necessary component changes required to set your new bike to fit.

As well as this, we will produce and send you a full BikeCAD drawing to give you a visual representation of your new bike of choice, along with a written information deck containing any components we will require for your bike. This will give you peace of mind that everything will be ready and in place for getting your new bike will be ready to set to fit in the next step. A link will be sent to you at the time of the initial bike fit consultation to be able to schedule a Google Meets appointment with us at your convenience.

New bike setup up appointment

Once you have received delivery of your new bike, a Follow Up appointment can be booked to complete the set up of your new bike, adjusting the fit to your precise measurements, install any new components required to set the bike to fit, and a run down of how your bike functions mechanically and maintenance advise. You can ride away knowing your new bike is perfectly set up for you.
